Speech Pathology Fees and Funding

I strive to make my fee structure transparent and fair. Services are charged at an hourly rate of $193.99 for both NDIS participants and private paying clients. Each individual therapy session is billed for one hour, which includes admin time, with no additional charges. If extra tasks arise outside of regular therapy sessions — such as writing letters, attending care team meetings, creating resources for home use, or one-off community visits — these may require additional time and will only proceed with prior written consent from parents.

Hourly Rate: $193.99

Initial Consultation

  • Duration: 1 hour (45 minutes face-to-face, 15 minutes planning and documentation)

  • Details: A parent-only session to gather background information, discuss your child’s needs, and explore how I can best support them. An assessment plan will be finalised during this session. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions. The child does not usually attend so parents can speak openly.

Assessment

  • Duration: 1–2 hours (depending on the child’s age and needs, time includes scoring of assessments and documentation)

  • Details: A combination of standardised and/or informal assessments to understand your child’s current speech, language, and communication skills.

  • One off assessments: Length of time will vary based on the purpose of the assessment and the area being assessed. Please contact me to discuss your child's individual circumstances.

Assessment Reports

  • Charged at an hourly rate

  • Typical duration: 1–2.5 hours, depending on the type of assessment completed.

  • NDIS Reports: Typically require 2 hours.

Therapy Sessions

  • Duration: 1 hour (45 minutes face-to-face or via telehealth, 15 minutes planning and documentation)

  • Details: Sessions are tailored to your child’s goals and include time for session planning, note-taking, and resource preparation.

Travel

  • Charged by time, up to 30 minutes each way.

  • Applies to:

    • Therapy sessions held in your home or in the community

    • School or childcare observations

Additional Tasks

Some tasks outside of regular sessions may require extra time and will only proceed with prior written consent from parents. These may include:

  • Writing reports or letters for educators and other professionals

  • Attending care team meetings

  • Creating individualised home resources

  • One-off visits to schools or childcare settings

I aim to keep my fee structure transparent and fair, making it easier for families to plan for their child’s ongoing supports. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Fee Schedule

Families may be able to access funding support for speech pathology services through various options, including:

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) – Children with a diagnosed disability or developmental delay may be eligible for speech therapy funding under the NDIS. I am able to provide therapy for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

  • Medicare – Certain Medicare plans, such as the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care Plan), allow children to access a rebate for a limited number of speech pathology sessions when referred by a GP.

  • Private Health Insurance – Many private health insurance policies provide rebates for speech pathology services. Coverage varies depending on the insurer and level of cover, so it is recommended that families check with their provider.
